Obligations of Science in Plain English

1. We reserves the right to refuse any application for tuition
2. A receipt for payment will be issued
3. All the tutors provided by the company are fully qualified science teachers with current CRB clearance.
4. If the tutor needs to cancel a lesson, the student will be contacted immediately and the lesson will be rearranged.
5. If the tutor is unable to continue with tuition or will be absent for a long period we will strive to arrange a replacement
6. The student can expect the tutor to prepare an appropriate teaching schedule, suitable for his or her own specific needs.
7. Tuition does not guarentee success -- we can not be held liable for underachievement in any external examination.

Obligations of the Tutee

1. Science in Plain English requires an appropriate adult to be present at all times during the teaching session.
2. Students under 18 years old need to provide a parent’s or guardian’s authorisation to enrol with "Science in Plain English"
3. The student must notify the company and the teacher of any cancellation at least 24 hours before the date and time of the lesson. Any lesson cancelled less than 24 hours before it is scheduled could be liable to a cancellation fee.
4. The student’s payment fee must be made directly to the tutor at the end of each lesson.
5. Prices are not subject to VAT.
6. The payment must be made in Pounds Sterling. The student may pay by:
   • Cheque payable to "Michelle Gilchrist Garn"
   • Cash
7. Payment is normally non-refundable.
8. The parent / guardian of the student must ensure that any premises used for the tuition conforms to basic health and safety standards.
